Dr Anton Beukes

Anton grew up on the mission field and has served in mobilizing the local church for missions (in South Africa, Canada and the USA), theological training and equipping (Australia) and with mission organizations (South Africa, Canada and Greece). Anton is the Dean of Studies and Missions Lecturer at PBC and has a passion to see the local church being mobilized for missions, local and international.

Dr Shannon Hood

Counselling Lecturer

Shannon lives in Melbourne with his wife, 4 teenage children, and pepper the Labrador. Shannon is a clinical Counsellor and supervisor with the Australian counselling association and was the founding member of the college of Christian Counsellors. Shannon concluded his first career as a senior manager with Deloitte and now is an ordinand for the diaconate ministry in the Anglican Church. He read theology at the University of Cambridge and now teaches, researches and practices where faith and therapy collide.

Mr Stephen Poisat

Steve Poisat is an ordained minister and leads the team at Redeemer Church in Landsdale, Perth (CoCWA). He has also worked as a chaplain in the WA Government school system and is a registered clinical counsellor (CCAA & ACA). Steve loves the ongoing rewards and challenges of leadership, pastoral counselling and teaching. He lecturers in pastoral theology and counselling and is in the process of pursuing further research (PhD) into the implications of inaugurated eschatology for professional counselling theory and practice.

Dr David G. Michie

Dean of Counselling, Sessional Lecturer


David is the director of Journeylines Counselling & Training Services and has over 20 years of counselling experience. He has been a lecturer for PBC for many years and has a desire for people to know, explore and live the realness of Jesus in all of life.

Mr Nicholas van Oudtshoorn

System Administrator/Lecturer

BCM (Hons), MDiv

Nick has a background in systems administration. As well as serving us in the IT sphere he is also pastoring a church. Nick works for us part time to ensure all that our IT services are functioning and improving.

Rev Dr David Shaw

David spent eight years in Korea completing an MDiv and pastoring several churches. David recently completed his PhD in the New Testament at the University of Exeter in the UK. He is married to Becky and they have three young children.

David has experience in business and has worked as a Church Pastor in the area of teaching and leadership training before coming to PBC. David comes to PBC from Tasmania with his wife and three children. David is passionate about strengthening the church and training leaders in developing countries.

Kari grew up in Norway, and moved to Australia in 2003. She is married to Marcel and they have 3 boys. Kari oversees the office.

Mrs Tia Burton

Tia graduated from PBC in 2018 and is currently undertaking her Masters in Theology. She enjoys journeying with others, thinking deeply about God and developing practical ministry in creative ways. Tia also shares the joy of raising her son with her husband Chris.

Mrs Judy Smith


Judy is a gifted musician, the wife of David and the mother of Daniel, Aidan and Kaila. Judy, who previously worked for Australia Post, is a passionate book lover and now works as the College Librarian.

Mrs Debbie Allbury

Debbie emigrated to Australia from Zimbabwe with her husband Peter and two little boys in May 1992. Debbies first job in Australia was as a Sales consultant with a print company. She has subsequently worked in a variety of positions, from marketing to administration to running a training department for a large non-profit organisation to Manager of a market research company.

Mrs Sarah Park

Sarah, originally from South Korea, studied business before coming to Perth with her husband Samuel and their two children. Sarah is part of the JDM mission organisation which reaches out to university students. Sarah works in the office at the College part-time.
